Season of Transition
& a little shopping never hurt nobody.
The air has officially shifted. There is a crisp coolness that is paired with the strength of the sun, making this moment one that lands itself right at the transition of summer and fall. In New York it often leads to entertaining people watching, as you’ll find humans dressed in everything from tanks and flip flops to full-blown puffers and boots. I find it especially nostalgic, joyful, beautiful, energizing, and inspiring all at once. There is that burst of productivity that hits me, likely from decades of “back-to-school” conditioning, alongside the slow indulgent feeling of a fleeting summer.
I am drawn to at least two influences of style right now. First, is more of a nod to the season approaching. I usually dig out a sweater or long sleeve around this time and pair it with a short I’ve been wearing all summer. This summer it is these shorts. I love the way I feel in a loose long sleeve and an athletic short. Add jewelry and a ballet flat for what I think to be balance, perfected.

I also gave in and bought the Skall x Keen sneaks. Blame the whole in my heart was left after missing a trip to Copenhagen this summer, bandaids come in all shapes and sizes.
The other influence I am gravitating towards is really that of comfort. I want my layers to feel like second skin. I want to have the ease of coziness wrapped around my body. I love adding a lingerie nod here to avoid getting too warm too soon. Personally, I wore the Intimissimi Lace Shorts more than I would like to admit this summer and believe they perfectly pair with the knits in the links below.

Whatever this season of transition brings up for you, on your body or in your heart, I hope you embrace it. I am normally not one to say goodbye to summer lightly, but this year something feels different for me. So I am going to do my best to lean into that cool weather feeling and see where it takes me.
xx.
